"Unpacking Generative AI in Education: Computational Modeling of Teacher and Student Perspectives in Social Media Discourse"
Paulina DeVito, Akhil Vallala, Sean Mcmahon, Yaroslav Hinda, Benjamin Thaw, Hanqi Zhuang, Hari Kalva - Published in IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems
Research ContributorThis research presents a comprehensive analysis of stakeholder discourse around generative AI in education, built on a dataset of 1,199 Reddit posts and 13,959 comments preprocessed and analyzed using sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and author classification.
My contribution focused on data cleaning which high time-intensive phase of the project along with running sentiment, topic, and classification analyses. I also contributed early visualizations, though the final published figures were refined by the team.
